San Diego gas price drops for second consecutive day

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County decreased Friday for the second consecutive day after rising 28 of the previous 30 days, falling four-tenths of a cent to $4.287.

The average price is two-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 7.9 cents lower than one year ago, but 40.2 cents higher than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The dropping price is the result of dropping prices for oil and gasoline futures caused by an increase in fuel supplies stemming from increased production by refineries, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
