
ESCONDIDO (CNS) - A vacant commercial building in Escondido caught fire Sunday, fire officials said.
Heavy smoke was spotted billowing from the flaming building at 915 East Valley Parkway as firefighters arrived about 8 a.m., according to the Escondido Fire Department.
Four engine companies were dispatched to the scene, along with a truck, a medic unit and a chief officer, fire officials said.
Firefighters contained the fire to the empty building, authorities said.
Investigators were called in and are determining what sparked the blaze, according to the Escondido Fire Department.
