SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Diego police are stepping up enforcement at railroad crossings to help prevent dangerous and often deadly accidents.
For five hours on Tuesday, officers patrolled two Barrio Logan railroad crossings as part of "Operation Lifesaver." They wrote a number of tickets, both to motorists and pedestrians.
In one incident, they ticketed the driver of a mustang who backed up off the tracks and nearly into a motorcycle officer.
A pedestrian was also ticketed for ducking under the arm and running across the rails.
