CHULA VISTA (CNS) - The Eastlake Little League All-Stars from Chula Vista will seek a berth in the Little League World Series tonight when they face their counterparts from the Belmont-Redwood Shores Little League in the West Region Tournament championship game in San Bernardino.

Eastlake, the Southern California champion, has won four of its five games in the tournament, with its only loss coming to Belmont-Redwood Shores Wednesday in the final pool play game for both teams.

Belmont-Redwood Shores, the Northern California champion from Belmont, is 5-0, including the 3-2 victory over Eastlake.

Eastlake qualified for the championship game with a 12-0 victory over the Mountain Ridge Little League All-Stars from Las Vegas, the Nevada champions, in a semifinal Friday.

Belmont-Redwood Shores defeated the Chandler National League Little All-Stars, the Arizona champions, 8-1, in the other semifinal Friday.

Eastlake is seeking to become the 10th San Diego County team to play in the Little League World Series and the first since the Park View Little League All-Stars from Chula Vista in 2009, who won the Little League World Series.

Eastlake won three tournaments to qualify for the West Region Tournament and has a 17-1 record.

The game is set to begin at 6 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN. A viewing party will be held at Eastlake Tavern and Bowl, 881 Showroom Place.

The West Region Tournament field consists of the champions of Southern California, Northern California, Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah.
