SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Kidnapping victim Hannah Anderson attended a fundraiser for her family in Lakeside Thursday.
The 16-year-old did not address news crews as she arrived at the Boll Weevil on Winter Gardens Boulevard in Lakeside.
Her father Brett made a brief statement thanking the community and law enforcement. He added that he spoke with the four horse riders whose sighting of Hannah last week ultimately led to her being located in the Idaho wilderness with her captor James DiMaggio.
"We gave them our thanks and gratitude... It was a chance encounter but it did save my daughter's life," he said.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - In Lakeside, the community is coming together to support Hannah Anderson and her family, including a fundraiser and messages of support.
At El Capitan High School, where Hannah is a junior, well-wishers constructed the message "Hannah's safe," spelled out in pink cups along the high school's fence along with hundreds of pink ribbons.
Also, on Thursday, the Lakeside Boll Weevil restaurant is holding a fundraiser to benefit the Anderson family. Twenty percent of all sales all day long will go to the family.
"I have a daughter the same age as Hannah, so it has really hit home. So that's why we did what we did, for the family," restaurant manager Brigitte Pinkham said.
