SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A house has revealed a pot growing operation and possible puppy mill.

The home owners were arrested and more than a dozen puppies have been taken to animal control.

The garage fire was reported at a home in the 5200 block of Auburn Drive at 11:25 p.m. Monday. Fire crews quickly knocked down the flames, taking about 10 minutes to do so.

Several marijuana plants, possibly up to 80, were discovered inside the home once the fire was out, San Diego police Sgt. Robin Rose said. Authorities also seized several dogs, mostly small breeds, from the home.
