Rare Monday night football blackout expected

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Diego Chargers are on the verge of the first Monday night football blackout in over a decade.

More than 9,000 general tickets are still not sold for the team's home game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Blackouts on Monday night football games are rare -- so it's expected that San Diegans will be the only ones unable to see the game's national broadcast.

The restriction could be announced as early as tonight.
