CAMP PENDLETON (CBS 8) - A large scale amphibious landing exercise is underway at Camp Pendleton. The week-long training exercise is called "Steel Knight."
It features amphibious assault vehicles coming to shore.
Participating units will hone their conventional war fighting potential by practicing the skills needed to deploy and fight as part of a Marine Air Ground Task Force.
This exercise will help enhance the overall readiness of the Marine Corps to respond to a crisis.
Exercise "Steel Knight" is a multi-base exercise that will run through Dec. 15.
