Thirty-six teams of runners have signed on to raise funds and run the 200-mile Ragnar relay in April to benefit Monarch School, a K-12 school for homeless children. More than 400 runners have raised more than $110,000 so far. The third annual "200 Miles for Monarch Ragnar Relay SoCal 2014" fundraiser has attracted hundreds of local runners at all skill levels. Teams will race down the coast from Huntington Beach to San Diego on April 4-5, running through the night, rain or shine. Funds raised by the event go to benefit the programs at Monarch School, including tutoring, college and career preparation, enrichment programs, academic supplies, physical education and sports, art therapy, and after school programs as well as basic necessities such as food and clothing, health care, transportation and family assistance.
