New Website Provides Information on More Than 1,000 Top Destination Wineries for Tourists and Connoisseurs

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., May 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --, a new website designed to help wine country tourists discover new wineries, new wines and then share their experiences with other wine enthusiasts has launched this week. The site features 1,149 of the top wineries for tourists in North America. Selected wineries offer a variety of amenities for tourists, many offering on-site lodging, restaurants, gift shops, picnic areas, tasting rooms and other tourist friendly features. Nearly half of the featured wineries have video clips of their winery, vineyard and grounds, so visitors can get a taste of what the winery has to see and do before they consider a visit. Website visitors who have already visited the winery are asked to provide an unbiased peer-to-peer review for other potential visitors.

According to Chris Schwartz, creator, "We hope to provide wine tourists with unfiltered information on destination wineries, to help them plan their visits, even if it's just a website visit to an unknown winery. The site grew out of my own travels to California, where I would have weekends on my own to visit wineries. I had limited time and didn't want to waste it. It was hard to get unbiased recommendations. That's why we ask people who have been to a winery to share their impressions with others."

The site's winery directory features alphabetical listings to help you find information on wineries you already know by name and an interactive map locator to help users find unknown wineries in a specific area they may be visiting. There's even a mobile version for smart phones to help users get winery directions while on the road. According to Schwartz, "While only a fraction of our users will visit the wineries in person, many of them will discover new wineries and visit them online." Each winery listing includes weblinks and phone numbers to help their users find new wineries. also offers merchandise for wine lovers not found anywhere else, like their "Veni Vidi Vino" embroidered baseball cap, their "Wi Ne" essential elements T-shirt and their "Dinner is poured" apron.
