Lawmakers push to reopen Benghazi investigation

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The fall of a gavel on Capitol Hill resonates here in San Diego -- home to three former-Navy SEALs killed in Benghazi.

GOP lawmakers in the house voted to create a special committee to investigate the Obama administration's response to the attack.

Glen Doherty, of Encinitas, Tyrone Woods, of Imperial Beach and Sean Smith, of Clairemont were killed in the siege along with ambassador Chris Stevens.

Republicans say the White House mislead the public. Democrats call the probe politically motivated.
