SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Crew battling a fire on the second floor of a three-story condominium complex in La Jolla early Tuesday discovered a woman's body inside.

The fire in the 3200 block of Via Alicante erupted shortly after 5 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. It took crews about 20 minutes to subdue the flames, SDFRD spokesman Lee Swanson said.

The cause of the unidentified woman's death was under investigation.

It also was not immediately clear what sparked the blaze, which caused an estimated $300,000 worth of damage to the structure and destroyed about $200,000 worth of contents.
