SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Community members flocked to the beautiful Torrey Pines Golf Course Friday for a fundraiser.
The goal was to raise money for the families of San Diego police officers killed in the line of duty.
The San Diego Police Officers Association held its sixth annual Widows and Orphans Fund Golf Tournament. Retired police officers, local business owners and representatives helped make the tournament possible.
"We are very thankful by the support that we've received from the businesses and the citizens of San Diego," SDPOA President Brian Marvel said.
The SDPOA is hoping to raise $1 million for the fund. So far they are at about $600,000.
