VISTA (CBS 8) – More than 100 golfers teed off in the North County Monday in support of our wounded warriors.
The third annual Semper Fi Open Golf Tournament was held Monday morning at Shadow Ridge Golf Club. The tournament raises money for the Semper Fi Fund, which helps Marines and sailors who have been hurt on the battlefield since 9/11.
"To help out with beds, with iPads with memory software, service dogs, helping them with their groceries, their rent, the bills – anything that they need," Kerry-Ann Ellington of the Semper Fi Fund said.
The tournament has raised more than $275,000 for the Semper Fi Fund over the past two years, and organizers expect to pass this year's goal of $150,000.
