CARLSBAD (CBS 8) - The Poinsettia Fire broke out the same day as the Cocos Fire. Now fire investigators believe that fire may have been started by someone on a golf course.
Cell phone video captured the start of the Poinsettia fire on May 14 By the La Costa Golf Course.
The City of Carlsbad released a fire investigation report Wednesday, only after news organizations requested it.
Officially, the cause of the fire is listed as undetermined, but investigators suspect it could have been caused by either a cigarette, a cigar or perhaps by a spark from a titanium golf club hitting a rock.
People on the golf course that day were interviewed, but did not help investigators pin down an exact cause.
The fire destroyed 27 dwellings and three commercial buildings.
