Digital Veteran Will Drive Adoption of Performance-Based Technology for Programmatic Direct Sales

NEW YORK, Aug. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Yieldbot, the industry's leading real-time consumer intent platform for premium media, today announced the appointment of Scott Portugal as GM of its Publisher Platform. In this role, Scott will be responsible for working directly with a growing number of premium publishers using Yieldbot's artificial intelligence platform to create new programmatic direct revenue streams.

Scott brings more than 15 years of experience working alongside the world's leading publishers, and has held senior roles with several top companies in the programmatic advertising industry. Most recently, he was SVP, Programmatic & Strategic Alliances at PulsePoint, where he was responsible for managing global programmatic business and strategic partnerships. Previously, he has held roles as VP, Publisher Development at both Tacoda and AOL.

"There's no one better suited to ensure that Yieldbot continues to stand out in the premium media landscape," said Jonathan Mendez, CEO at Yieldbot. "We already work with every major holding company and four of the largest premium media properties in the U.S. It's because Yieldbot provides a source of highly valuable CPC and performance-based demand from search, mobile, social, shopper and performance display on a platform that publishers can now use themselves for their own direct and programmatic direct campaigns. The end result is increased value of media."

In this new role, Scott will oversee the entire publisher-focused side of Yieldbot's business. This announcement comes on the heels of a 18 million Series B round of funding in June 2014, which has been used to attract technical and executive talent.

"Yieldbot has already proved its technology across search buyers, driving CTRs to the highest levels seen in display," said Scott Portugal, GM of Publisher Platform at Yieldbot. "That's why Yieldbot's media partners are showing so much interest in the company's ability to increase performance for publisher's direct sold campaigns. Yieldbot is the only platform in the industry that helps publishers recognize, organize, and activate real time consumer intent data in order to unlock the true value of their content. I'm excited to lead this initiative and look forward to delivering unprecedented results for major media companies."
