SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Belmont Park is getting another exciting attraction - a 300 foot zip-line.
The new zip-line opens Saturday, August 30. Riders will soar about 30 feet above the ground and the length is just about the size of a football field.
Belmont Park is really stepping it up these days with everything from a 30 foot rock climbing wall to a 10 foot wave machine called the FlowBarrel, which pumps 100,000 gallons of water per minute.
But without a doubt, this is the scariest thing out here. It's called The Leap and it isn't open for a couple of months, but they say it's ready for someone to try and apparently that someone is me and I survived.
The zip-line is $8, the climb is $6 and The Leap will also be $6 when it opens.
There is also a new laser tag activity that is a three story maze with plenty of room for cool floor rolls.
Of course, they've also kept the best of the classics, including the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, which was built in 1925 and the arcade with the best of the new games - the oldies, but goodies.
And if you need a break from it all, they've got you covered there too, with something cold for the kids and the grown-ups too. The new restaurant draft has more than 60 beers on tap. Just don't consume too much before going on the rides.
