LADERA RANCH, Calif., Feb. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ladera Sports Center announced today that the facility will host a 64-team adult basketball tournament with $30,000 in total cash prizes, including a $20,000 cash prize to the winning team. The second and third place teams will be awarded $7,000 and $3,000 each, respectively.

The tournament will begin August 4 – 5 for the first, second and third rounds of play and return for the championship rounds August 25 – 26.

"The Ladera Sports Center team is excited to host one of our most competitive basketball tournaments to-date, which we're dubbing the '$30,000 Basketball Challenge,'" said Steve Williams, chief executive officer of Ladera Sports Center. "We expect the livestreamed tournament to produce a very competitive, fun atmosphere where athletes bring their best game individually and as a team in order to take the top spot on that podium."

The 64-team tournament allows for seven to 15 players per team with the traditional 5-player on 5-player basketball structure, and a double elimination. Teams can sign up at an early bird rate for $500 until March 1. Between March 2 and April 1 teams can register for $750; late registration will be available from April 2June 1 for $1,000.
