Zahau family attorney: “I anticipate Adam Shacknai will end up behind bars”

Posted: Updated:

A civil case regarding the death of 32-year-old Rebecca Zahau, whose bound and nude body was found hanging from a balcony at a historic Coronado mansion more than seven years ago, was dismissed with prejudice on Wednesday. This means it cannot be filed ever again. Adam Shacknai, who was convicted in the criminal trial of being liable for Rebecca Zahau's death claims his name has been cleared after the decision. The dismissal vacates the jury's verdict due to a settlement reached between Zahau's family and Adam Shacknai's insurance company, for an undisclosed sum.

AM 760’s Mark Larson spoke with Keith Greer, the Zahau family attorney, and asked him for his rebuttal regarding the civil case settlement, as well as the likelihood that Greer expects Adam Shacknai to serve prison time. Adam Shacknai was in the AM 760 studio the previous day to talk to Mark Larson about the case. In his interview with Larson, Greer chimes in on Shacknai’s claim that he (Greer) is like a casino boss just trying to get a piece of the pie in terms of money.
