KFMB STATIONS - CBS News 8 (KFMB-TV) - BROADCAST MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
KFMB Stations is searching for a Broadcast Maintenance Engineer for CBS News 8 (KFMB-TV), a CBS affiliate in San Diego. Position requires the ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support to our on-air servers, broadcast equipment, news production and on-air operations. Position will also provide Information Systems support as required. This position will work an evening schedule (2:45p-11:45p) including Saturdays; however position requires the ability to work a variety of shifts (including holidays) and to be on call, as needed. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years television broadcast maintenance experience as well as network administration and progressive IT experience. Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision, work well under pressure, be solution-oriented, and be capable of lifting a minimum of fifty pounds.
KFMB STATIONS - CBS 8 (KFMB-TV) ANCHOR/REPORTER
CBS News 8 (KFMB-TV), a CBS affiliate in San Diego, has an opening for a weekend anchor/reporter. This person will co-anchor our #1 rated weekend newscasts and report during the week. We are looking for a candidate with credibility and a lot of energy who can ad-lib and handle breaking news while anchoring, as well as a strong reporter with outstanding journalistic skills who knows how to dig for facts and consistently tells a compelling story. Previous anchoring experience, strong live-shots and excellent writing are essential. Minimum of three years commercial TV reporting experience preferred. We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual who can work 16-25 hours per week. Hours are flexible, but requires the ability to work weekends and occasional holidays. KFMB-AM - RADIO NEWS & TRAFFIC
KFMB-AM Talk Radio 760 has an opening for an on-air news anchor/reporter. We are looking for candidates with an exceptional understanding of news, politics, entertainment and sports. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: writing and editing stories for both on-air and on-line use. Position may also interact with talk show hosts. Candidates must have experience with the following: ENPS or similar newsroom gathering/editing system, digital audio editing (e.g. Adobe Audition) and digital audio recording devices and automation systems (Enco). KFMB STATIONS - DIGITAL MEDIA SPECIALIST (INTERNET SALES)
KFMB Stations is looking to fill a temporary position for approximately 3-4 months. We are searching for a digital media specialist to work directly with the sales Account Executives and sales support for all three Stations (KFMB-TV [CBS 8], KFMB-FM [100.7 JACK FM] and KFMB-AM [AM 760]). This position will help to develop and generate new business for all KFMB Station's interactive properties. Candidates must have a strong knowledge and understanding of online advertising, mobile advertising, and social media. Candidates must also be able to develop unique written proposals and possess confident presentation skills. 2-3 years' experience in an online sales department is preferred. Selected candidate must possess a current valid driver's license and be able to provide proof of current automobile insurance.
KFMB STATIONS -  FINANCIAL SERVICES MANAGER
KFMB Stations is searching for a Financial Services Manager to support and assist with the financial responsibilities for all Station properties, including KFMB-TV; Me-TV; KFMB-FM; KFMB-AM; and KFMB Interactive. This position reports to the Financial Services Director and assists with the preparation of the departmental, divisional, operating and capital budgets for all KFMB Properties. Additional responsibilities include: Assistance with the development of the annual budget; Updating annual forecast on a weekly basis; Management of the month-end close process including: Financial Reporting for month-end, quarterly, and year-end close; Preparation, completion and distribution of monthly departmental financials; Monthly managerial variance reports and journal entries; Account reconciliation and preparation of support schedules for A/R, Sales and various G/L accounts; Preparation of monthly payroll bank reconciliations; Preparation of annual audit schedules; Fixed asset depreciation; Calculation of sales commissions; Preparation and filing of annual business property tax reports; and tracking of capital projects. Position may oversee other accounting personnel and provide backup and/or assistance for the Financial Services Director, payroll or other accounting positions as needed. Position requires ability to meet deadlines, strong organizational skills and attention to detail and the ability to effectively interface with all departments within the KFMB Stations. 5+ years of financial or accounting experience is required. Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office (with an emphasis in Excel) is required. Great Plains, ADP and Wide Orbit experience is preferred. Knowledge of the broadcast industry is also preferred.
KFMB STATIONS INTERNSHIPS*
KFMB STATIONS - HUMAN RESOURCES INTERNSHIP
KFMB (Human Resources) is seeking a highly motivated intern to assist with various HR projects. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program in Human Resources  (Junior or Senior status) and have a strong desire to learn more about HR and how to apply the skills they have already learned. Intern must be able to follow directions yet still work independently (under supervision), perform detail oriented work with a high degree of accuracy, and have excellent writing skills. Must also be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and internet savvy.
CBS NEWS 8 INTERNSHIP
CBS News 8's internship program is intended to assist students who are interested in pursuing a career in the broadcasting industry.

Internships will provide students with an opportunity to learn about television broadcasting as well as hands-on experience in the newsroom. Selected candidates will work closely with producers and will assist with various functions such as researching story ideas, writing scripts, retrieving video and working in the control room to bring the news to our viewers.

We are looking for interns who are committed to a career in broadcasting and have already completed some prior journalism courses. Prior media-based internships and/or previous work experience in the broadcasting industry will also be taken into consideration when evaluating applicants. Juniors and seniors are preferred.
KFMB-RADIO PROMOTIONS INTERNSHIP
Internships are available in Radio Promotions to help students gain work experience in radio promotions, including general administrative duties and the coordination of promotional events. Candidates must be able to drive themselves to/from remote locations and be able to lift   30-40 lbs.  Internship hours are flexible but may involve weekends and holidays.
KFMB-AM INTERNSHIP
Internship is geared towards a better understanding of radio programming, including show preparation, production, call screening, and technical assistance during live broadcasts. Candidates must be available 10-15 hours/week. Previous experience in public or commercial radio is helpful.
KFMB INTERACTIVE INTERNSHIP
KFMB Interactive's internship program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in either online journalism or multimedia graphic design.

Selected journalism interns will work directly with the KFMB Interactive content team gathering and updating stories/video for cbs8.com. Interns will learn the process of analyzing content from multiple sources and posting to desktop, mobile, apps and social platforms.

Selected graphic design interns will work with the KFMB Interactive design team on website layout, ad design and design projects that relate to all interactive media platforms.

Each selected intern will have a unique individual project that will be completed during the course of the internship related to their field of study. Internship candidates must demonstrate an interest in online media and have completed upper division journalism/design courses. Juniors and seniors are preferred. Candidates must be available 10-15 hours a week.
*Internships are unpaid and therefore interns must be enrolled in a college or university internship program that provides school credit in exchange for no pay. Candidates must be able to provide proof of credit prior to starting their assignment. If selected, candidates will be required to complete an "Intern Eligibility Form" and "Waiver of Liability Form" for KFMB Stations
