Those who are well aware of the increase in crime in both the city and county of San Diego as well as the state of California know that there’s a big reason for this. It’s a byproduct of former Governor Jerry Brown’s signing of Props 47 and 57, along with Assembly Bill 109, in decreasing sentences and lowering of certain crimes from felonies to misdemeanors.

AM 760’s Mark Larson spoke with San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer on how homelessness, mental health, and a rise in crime are attributed to business owners being frustrated with vagrants cut down traffic for their businesses, as well as how one city council member wants to remove a bunch of parking spots from Balboa Park in regard to the whole Plaza de Panama project being put on hold for now.
