SAN DIEGO — An investigation is underway Tuesday after a catering truck was set on fire in Point Loma Heights, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police received a call at about 7:40 a.m. in the 4400 block of West Point Loma Blvd. that someone tried to set a truck on fire in the Point Loma Heights area.

The trucks owner told News 8 that someone tried to set the truck on fire and says neighbors heard someone say "we know you live in there."

According to police, the man who owns the truck does not live in it and no one was injured.

Arson investigators say a beer bottle with a wick inside of it was found near the truck.

"It's possible that whoever did this might have thought that someone was living in the vehicle, no one is but they may have thought that -- we don't know at this point," SDPD said.

The incident is under investigation.
