SPRING VALLEY, Calif. — A realtor discovered a trespasser inside an otherwise empty Spring Valley home Saturday afternoon.

Sheriff's deputies received a call at about 1:20 p.m., alerting them to the intruder at a home on Cordoba Street, San Diego County Sheriff's Lt. David Buether said.

The realtor told dispatchers she entered the house -- located in a neighborhood south of state Route 94 and east of Barcelon Street -- to find an unknown man inside, and he at some point took the keys to the residence from her and locked himself in, Buenther said.

Deputies arrived and instructed him to come outside. The man surrendered and was subsequently arrested, Buenther said.
