SAN DIEGO — A woman reported being kidnapped and held against her will Monday in a neighborhood near Black Mountain Open Space Park.
The unidentified woman showed up at a home on Caminito Cuadro in Rancho Penasquitos about 10:45 a.m. and told a resident she had been abducted and held captive in a nearby house, according to San Diego police.
Officers took the woman, who seemingly was uninjured, to an SDPD substation for an in-depth interview, Lt. Shawn Takeuchi said.
They later released a statement saying the incident was not being investigated as a kidnapping but that the SDPD Sex Crimes Unit would be taking the lead and actively investigating.
No suspects had been identified or arrested in the case as of mid- afternoon, the lieutenant said.
